You may have seen the headlines about a “hemp ban” tucked into the recent federal spending bill. The key point for right now is simple:
👉 Nothing changes for 365 days. It is business as usual until November 12, 2026.

At The Healing Rose, we operate under the Massachusetts Hemp Program as an MDAR-licensed manufacturer. Massachusetts already has one of the stricter hemp programs in the country, and from day one we have chosen to:
1. Follow the letter and spirit of the law
2. Avoid loopholes
3. Put safety, testing, and transparency first

Because of this, 95% of our products are not affected by the language in this bill. Our products remain compliant, safe, and legal to sell in Massachusetts.

There may still be some collateral impact if this wording is not improved, including:
👉 A proposed cap of 0.4 mg total THC per package, which could remove full spectrum CBD extracts from consumers who like to make their own products.
👉Potential disruption to the supply chain for CCC companies for minor cannabinoids such as CBC, CBN, and THCV, leaving only CBD and CBG as hemp-derived options that will be affordable in bulk.

I am choosing to stay hopeful. This situation has already sparked serious conversations about more sensible, nationwide hemp regulations. My hope is that hemp farmers, small businesses, and retailers who focus on safe, effective, non-intoxicating wellness products will be protected as the final rules are written.

There is a reasonable middle ground where public safety is protected and compliant hemp businesses can continue to serve their communities. The Healing Rose will keep doing what we have always done: operate within the rules, put consumer safety first, and advocate for fair, practical hemp regulations.
