Full spectrum CBD oil products are whole plant extracts that contains all the cannabinoids, terpenes and other natural goodies available in hemp plants. Full spectrum CBD products offer the benefit of providing you with the “full spectrum” of plant compounds found in the cannabis plant. These compounds work together synergistically in what is called the “entourage effect”.
What is broad spectrum CBD oil?
A broad spectrum CBD oil is the same product as a full spectrum CBD oil, the only difference being that all traces of THC have been removed. This is great for people who need to steer clear of THC, but still want the same benefits you would expect from the whole plant/the entourage effect.
What is THC-free CBD oil?
THC-free CBD oil is CBD oil that has been stripped of all THC (the cannabinoid that gets you high). Our broad spectrum CBD oil is THC free! If you’re looking for a THC free CBD oil, we recommend broad spectrum over CBD isolate-based oils. Broad spectrum CBD oil gives you all of the amazing benefits of the entourage effect without the worry of having THC in your system.
What is the difference between CBD oil and CBD hemp extract?
CBD oil is one of the most popular ways of using CBD. To create CBD oil, you use an extract from the hemp plant. CBD oil can be broad spectrum (THC- free), full spectrum (trace amounts of THC), or isolated CBD (no other cannabinoids or plant compounds besides CBD). All CBD oils will either come in alcohol (tincture) or a carrier oil like MCT oil or coconut oil. Our broad and full spectrum CBD oils are phytocannabinoid rich hemp extracts in oil form that is fully activated, and ready to use for infusions or for dabbing and vaping. We also have a collection of hemp extracts that are not oil-based.
CBD isolates are THC-free too, right?
Yes, it is correct that CBD isolate products have no THC. But CBD isolate oil and CBD isolate powder products are also free of minor cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, etc. Isolates also do not contain terpenes. These additional compounds are a necessary part of hemp products; so while CBD isolate oils are THC free, they are missing some other crucial components. This is why we recommend broad spectrum if you need a THC free cannabis oil!
What is CBG?
CBG (cannabigerol) is a phytocannabinoid found in the hemp plant, just like CBD (cannabidiol). Often referred to as the “Mother of all Cannabinoids”, all phytocannabinoids in the hemp flower start out as CBG(a) before changing into other cananbinoids like CBD, CBC, etc. CBG, which binds to both our Endocannabinoid System’s CB1 & CB2 receptors, also works synergistically with CBD in something known as the “Entourage Effect”. CBG is like CBD in that it is non-intoxicating and non-psychotropic. We encourage our customers to do independent research on CBG, its benefits, and its effects. Here is an article from Women’s Health Magazine on CBG.
